Prairie Lea Community Church is a Christ-centered, independent church rooted in the Wesleyan tradition. We are shaped by the teachings of John Wesley, emphasizing Scripture, grace, personal holiness, and love lived out through faith in action. While we are no longer part of a denomination, our mission remains the same: to love God, love people, and serve our community with humility, truth, and hope. We believe faith is not only something we profess, but something we practice as we follow Jesus together.

The Importance of Serving Others
Jesus made it clear—life in His Kingdom is not about being served, but about serving. When we serve others, we follow His example, showing the same love and humility He displayed when He washed His disciples’ feet. Serving is more than a task; it’s an act of worship. It turns our faith into action, reminding the world that God’s love is practical, compassionate, and personal.
Serving others changes us, too. It softens our hearts, opens our eyes to the needs around us, and draws us closer to Christ. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, encouraging a neighbor, or giving our time and talents, each act of service is a seed planted in God’s Kingdom—one that can grow into hope, healing, and transformation.
When we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus. And in a world desperate for light, our willingness to serve can be the spark that points someone to Him.

Our Heart for Outreach
At Prairie Community Church, we believe love in action is one of the clearest ways to show Christ to our neighbors. Through our Open Door program, we provide emergency food and clothing—especially for domestic violence survivors, single parents, and families in need. With just a phone call, we open our doors and offer practical help, compassion, and emergency necessities when families land in a time of crisis.
Our outreach extends beyond our walls into the heart of our community. We pick up children for Sunday school when their parents can’t bring them, making sure every child has the chance to hear about God’s love. We also partner with our local schools—providing meals for teachers and staff on special occasions, celebrating the start of each school year, and honoring graduating seniors with a special meal as they step into a new chapter of life.

After much prayer, conversation, and discernment, our church has made the decision to change our name to Prairie Lea Community Church.
This change reflects a shift in our denominational affiliation, but not a departure from our faith. We remain deeply rooted in the Wesleyan tradition and continue to follow the teachings of John Wesley, particularly his emphasis on Scripture, grace, discipleship, and a lived-out faith.
Our decision comes from a desire to remain faithful to our convictions while continuing to serve Christ and our community with integrity. While our name is changing, our heart, mission, and commitment to Jesus have not.
We are grateful for our past, prayerful about our future, and excited to continue this journey together as Prairie Lea Community Church.
